Candice Williamson
My name is Candice Williamson (nee Jonsson) and I am a person who is passionate about learning and development.
I started swimming at the age of 2 and swam competitively throughout primary school where I swam my first Midmar mile at the age of 12 in 28 minutes and participated in the Lower South Coast Swim Trials for breaststroke. I continued to swim competitively for Parktown High School for Girls. I went on to study accounting at RAU and I qualified as a CA(SA) in 2007 after completing my articles and board exams through Deloitte.
I spent a year in commerce where I found I did not enjoy the environment and quickly moved into learning and development, training trainee accountants. I then moved back to Deloitte in a learning and development capacity where I developed material and facilitated training from a trainee accountant to manager level. I developed a new manager programme, which has been adopted globally by Deloitte. I have recently resigned from Deloitte to stay at home with my little girl and run the business side of Sarah’s Swim Academy.
I am really enjoying this venture with my sister and feel like I am making a positive contribution to the lives of the swimmers by affording them the opportunity to learn a necessary life skill.
